How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    The Opportunity

Are you a hands-on, proactive Maintenance Technician looking for a role where you can make a real difference to site efficiency, safety and day-to-day operations?

Our client, an established food production business, is looking for reliable and experienced Facilities Maintenance Technicians to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a varied role where you'll play an important part in maintaining the site's facilities and equipment, ensuring everything operates safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to production.

You'll work closely with colleagues across the business and external contractors, helping maintain high standards of safety, compliance and operational performance.

    Key Responsibilities

Facilities Maintenance: Carry out routine maintenance and repairs across site facilities, buildings and equipment to ensure optimal operation.

Reactive & Preventative Maintenance: Identify faults, respond to breakdowns and complete maintenance tasks promptly to minimise operational disruption.

Inspections & Safety: Conduct regular inspections of buildings, grounds and equipment, identifying potential issues and ensuring compliance with Health & Safety requirements.

Contractor Management: Coordinate with external contractors and specialist service providers to complete maintenance work safely and effectively.

Records & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections, ensuring all relevant information is documented.

Equipment & Stock Management: Monitor and maintain maintenance supplies, tools and equipment, ensuring resources are available when required.

Continuous Improvement: Support the development of maintenance procedures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and site standards.

Food Safety & Hygiene: Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness, following company policies, legal requirements and industry best practice.

Emergency Response: Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests, helping ensure the site remains safe and operational.

    What You'll Bring

Maintenance Experience: Previous experience as a Facilities Maintenance Technician or in a similar maintenance-based role.

Technical Knowledge: A good understanding of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing and mechanical equipment.

Problem-Solving: Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions.

Health & Safety: An understanding of workplace safety procedures and the importance of maintaining a safe working environment.

Organisation: The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads and maintain accurate records.

Teamwork: A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently while supporting the wider team.

Communication: Good interpersonal skills and the confidence to liaise with colleagues, contractors and other departments.

IT Skills: Basic computer skills for maintenance records, reporting and communication.

Practical Approach: Comfortable undertaking hands-on maintenance duties and physical work when required.

Qualifications: Relevant maintenance qualifications, certifications or vocational training would be advantageous.

    Why Apply?

Stability: Secure a permanent position within an established and growing food production business.

Variety: Enjoy a broad role covering building maintenance, equipment repairs, inspections and preventative maintenance.

Impact: Play an important part in keeping the site safe, efficient and running smoothly.

Team Environment: Work alongside an experienced team, with opportunities to develop your technical skills and knowledge.

Consistent Hours: Enjoy a regular Monday–Friday working pattern, 8:00am–5:00pm.

Career Development: An opportunity to build your experience within a busy operational environment and contribute to ongoing site improvements.

If you're a practical, reliable and motivated maintenance professional looking for a permanent opportunity where you can put your skills to good use, we'd love to hear from you
