About the Role
Teach Now is seeking an experienced Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant to provide consistent 1:1 support within a mainstream primary school in Barnet.
You will support a Year 4 pupil with autism, helping them access classroom learning, manage transitions and build confidence and independence. Working closely with the class teacher, you will use practical strategies such as visual prompts, structured movement breaks and scaffolded activities to make learning more accessible.
This role requires a calm, patient and consistent approach. You will help maintain clear routines and positive boundaries while adjusting your support as the pupil becomes more confident and independent. When 1:1 support is not required, you may also contribute to wider Year 4 classroom activities.
This opportunity would suit someone with previous experience supporting autistic children in a mainstream primary setting who understands how small adjustments can make a significant difference to participation and progress.
