How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    3rd Line IT Engineer – Doncaster – £35,000

Autonomous Work | Bonus Scheme | Flexible Hours | Overtime available | On-Site Gym

Ada Meher is partnered with a long‑established insurance provider in Doncaster as they look to hire a 3rd Line IT Engineer to strengthen their internal technical operations. This is a hands‑on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving complex problems, and acting as the go‑to technical resource across infrastructure, Windows & Linux servers, and core business systems.

Whilst this role is required to work on‑site at their office in Doncaster five days a week, you can expect some flexibility in hours and a close‑knit technical team. The position offers genuine autonomy as the business wants someone proactive, curious, and confident enough to investigate issues, propose solutions, and independently drive improvements across their estate.

The successful candidate can expect to work across 3rd Line support across core IT systems and infrastructure, administration and troubleshooting of Windows Server environments as well as supporting virtualisation platforms. This role would suit someone who thrives on independence - someone who can be given a problem and trusted to go away, figure it out, and deliver a robust solution. In exchange, you will be offered genuine progression opportunities as well as a number of bonus incentives.

    To Be Considered…

    * Demonstrable experience in a 3rd Line / L3 Support role

    * Strong background in Windows Server administration & support

    * Some exposure to Linux systems

    * Experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.)

    * A proactive mindset and the confidence to work autonomously

    * Strong communication skills and the ability to translate technical detail into business impact

As well as the opportunity to step into a stable, well‑respected organisation where your work directly improves operational resilience and efficiency, you will also find flexibility around working hours, incentives & bonus schemes, a supportive team, and significant ownership over your technical domain, this is an ideal role for an engineer who wants to make a meaningful impact without layers of bureaucracy.

We are looking to hire for this role ASAP and shortlisting has already begun. For consideration, please apply immediately
