How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

KBM Resourcing are recruiting a skilled Subsea Cable Technician to join a specialist technical manufacturing team producing high performance subsea cable systems and assemblies.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands on technician with an electrical background to work on complex, precision engineered products used in subsea environments. From cable assembly and electrical termination to moulding, testing and quality assurance, you’ll play an important role in ensuring products meet exacting engineering standards.

If you have a keen eye for detail, enjoy practical problem solving and take pride in producing high quality work, please get in touch.

    The Role

Working within a technical manufacturing environment, you’ll be responsible for assembling, terminating, moulding and testing cable systems and associated components in line with engineering drawings, work instructions and quality requirements.

    Key responsibilities include:

    * Assembling components and cable systems from supplied kits

    * Preparing components for termination, splicing and encapsulation.

    * Carrying out electrical terminations and splicing using soldering and mechanical techniques.

    * Performing fibre optic terminations in accordance with established procedures.

    * Mixing and casting polyurethane, polyethylene and epoxy resins.

    * Manufacturing connectors and connector inserts from raw components.

    * Handling and storing chemicals safely, following all relevant health, safety and environmental procedures.

    * Testing finished products, recording results accurately and completing the necessary documentation.

    * Maintaining machinery, tools and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.

    * Maintaining high standards of housekeeping, product quality and workplace safety.

    * Working collaboratively with colleagues across Engineering, Operations, Quality, Stores and other departments.

    * Supporting colleagues with product knowledge and process training where required.

    Ideally, you’ll have:

    * Experience in soldering and cable assembly.

    * The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, or a willingness to develop this skill.

    * Strong problem solving and fault finding abilities.

    * Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

    * A strong commitment to health, safety and quality standards.

    Desirable, but not essential:

    * An IPC qualification.

    * Previous fibre optic termination experience.

    * Experience working with moulding, encapsulation or resin-casting processes.

    Why Apply?

This is an opportunity to develop your technical expertise in a specialist engineering environment, working with complex cable systems and precision-manufactured components.

You’ll have the opportunity to broaden your practical skills, contribute to high quality engineering projects and work alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative technical team
