How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Our client is a specialist manufacturer of thermal battery technology, supplying power solutions to the defence and aerospace sectors. They are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead complex programmes, manage customer relationships, and support the business's commercial development.
    The Role
Reporting directly to the Site Director, you will plan, execute, and deliver programmes within a product design and manufacturing environment. You will coordinate engineering, operations and other teams to deliver against agreed customer requirements, budgets and timescales. As a key customer contact, you will maintain clear communication, manage risks and resolve issues throughout the program lifecycle. Alongside program delivery, you will support business development through existing and prospective customer relationships, identifying opportunities and contributing to annual order intake and sales objectives.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Lead multiple programs from initiation through to completion, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, cost, quality and timescales.
    * Develop and maintain programme plans, schedules, budgets and resource requirements.
    * Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, and put practical mitigation plans in place.
    * Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing and the wider business.
    * Act as a key customer interface, clarify requirements, communicate progress and manage expectations.
    * Lead programme reviews and provide clear reporting on milestones, financial performance and delivery risks.
    * Manage programme expenditure and resource allocation, addressing deviations from plan.
    * Lead, coach and develop team members to strengthen programme delivery.
    * Work with senior leadership to ensure programmes support the wider business strategy.
    * Develop customer relationships and identify opportunities for additional work, supporting order intake and sales budgets.
    * Improve programme management processes and support the effective introduction of business changes.
    About You
You will be an experienced Programme or Project Manager who understands the practical demands of delivering technical products within a design and manufacturing business. You will combine strong planning and leadership skills with commercial awareness, building productive customer relationships while keeping programmes on track.
    Essential Requirements
    * Degree in a technical discipline.
    * At least five years’ relevant experience in programme, project or business management, including successful delivery of complex programmes.
    * Experience working within a product design and manufacturing environment.
    * Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and engage with senior stakeholders.
    * Strong programme planning, budgeting, resource management and risk management skills.
    * Understanding of financial performance, commercial commitments and contract law.
    * Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
    * Ability to manage competing priorities, solve problems and make informed decisions.
    * Experience leading, coaching and developing others.
    Desirable
    * A formal business qualification.
    * Experience within defence, aerospace or a related technical manufacturing sector.
    * Experience developing customer accounts and identifying further business opportunities.
    What’s on Offer
    * Competitive salary and benefits.
    * Direct reporting to the Site Director.
    * Responsibility for complex programmes supporting defence and aerospace applications.
    * The opportunity to influence programme delivery, customer relationships and business performance.
