How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

Account Manager – City of London

    Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 per annum
    Location: City of London
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm

We are seeking an experienced Account Manager to take ownership of a prestigious facilities management contract within a landmark smart building in the City of London.

This is an exceptional opportunity to step into a key leadership position, succeeding a highly respected colleague who is retiring after developing a successful, long-standing client relationship. Having recently mobilised into a state-of-the-art building, we are building on an established partnership with a prestigious legal firm that we have supported across its wider estate for several years.

As Account Manager, you will take full responsibility for a contract with an annual value of approximately £8 million, overseeing its commercial performance, strategic development and operational delivery. Working closely with senior client stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement, maximise contract performance and ensure the building's advanced engineering systems operate to the highest standards.

    Key Responsibilities
Lead Senior Client Relationships: Build on an established and successful partnership, acting as a trusted advisor to the client and representing NG Bailey as the senior lead on site.
Take Ownership of an £8 Million P&L: Manage the commercial performance of the contract, driving profitability, controlling costs, identifying opportunities for growth and ensuring value for money without compromising service quality.
Drive Strategic Development: Set the strategic direction of the account, anticipating client requirements, identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering long-term service excellence.
Lead and Develop Your Team: Inspire, coach and mentor a multidisciplinary engineering team, creating a positive working environment that encourages professional development, high performance and effective succession planning.
Champion Smart Building Innovation: Make the most of advanced building technologies and integrated engineering systems to optimise performance, improve efficiency and deliver an exceptional client experience.
Manage Supply Chain and Compliance: Oversee specialist subcontractors and third-party suppliers, ensuring all works meet the required health and safety, quality, regulatory and statutory compliance standards.
Deliver Operational Excellence: Maintain high standards across all aspects of service delivery, ensuring the building's critical systems are managed effectively and the client's expectations are consistently exceeded.Essential Requirements
City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 in Electrical Installation, or a recognised equivalent qualification.
A recognised qualification or certification in BS 7671 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations).
Proven experience managing P&L responsibility within a complex facilities management or engineering services environment, ideally across a contract of comparable size and value.
Strong senior-level client relationship management skills, with the confidence to engage stakeholders, influence decisions and develop long-term strategic partnerships.
A background in mechanical and electrical (M&E) services or building engineering, with the technical knowledge to lead a skilled multidisciplinary team and engage confidently with complex building systems.
Experience driving continuous improvement, commercial performance and operational excellence within a demanding, client-focused environment.
A strong commitment to people development, with the ability to motivate teams, nurture talent and build capability for the future.
Experience managing subcontractors and supply chain partners, ensuring consistently high standards of service delivery, quality and safety.
A sound understanding of statutory compliance and health and safety requirements
