How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    £35,000 - £40,000 BASIC + PERFORMANCE-RELATED BONUS + EXCELLENT BENEFITS

Are you a Business Development Manager with experience in commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction or environmental services?

Get Recruited is working with an established commercial landscaping business that is investing in its sales team and looking for a Business Development Manager to support its next stage of growth.
Working with commercial clients, local authorities and sports facilities, the business delivers services across soft and hard landscaping, grounds maintenance and tree management. This is an excellent opportunity for a Business Development Manager who can understand technical requirements, build relationships and turn opportunities into new contracts.

If you're a Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Sales Manager or Business Development Executive looking for a role with ownership and progression, this could be your next move. The opportunity would also suit a commercially minded Bid Manager or Tender Manager looking to move into a more proactive sales role.

    THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ROLE:
As Business Development Manager, your main focus will be winning new commercial business, alongside developing relationships with existing clients.

Identify and approach prospective clients across commercial landscaping, construction, local authorities and sports facilities.
Build relationships with architects, commercial property teams and other key decision-makers.
Understand client requirements and develop opportunities across landscaping projects and ongoing maintenance contracts.
Work closely with design, landscaping and tender teams to develop proposals and support tender submissions.
Manage the sales process from initial outreach through to securing contracts and onboarding clients.
Develop existing accounts, identify additional requirements and introduce relevant services.
Support targeted outreach through marketing brochures, introductory letters and sales campaigns.
Explore AI tools, sales systems and prospect data to improve targeting, lead generation and follow-up.
Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and contribute to the growth of the developing sales team.
    THE PERSON:

Experience as a Business Development Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Account Manager or Business Development Executive within a relevant technical sector.
A background in commercial landscaping, grounds maintenance, construction, environmental services or a closely related industry.
An understanding of soft landscaping, hard landscaping, landscape design or commercial maintenance contracts would be particularly valuable.
A proactive Business Development Manager who enjoys outreach, opening doors and building long-term client relationships.
Confident working with technical teams to translate customer requirements into clear, commercially attractive proposals.
Tendering or bid experience, with the ambition and confidence to take on new business development.
Experience using AI sales tools, CRM systems, prospect data or targeted marketing would be advantageous.
Commercial project or contract experience, ideally gained as a Business Development Manager or within a related sales or tendering role.
    THE BENEFITS:

£35,000 basic salary, with flexibility considered depending on relevant experience.
    Performance-related bonus opportunity.
    Flexible hybrid working arrangements.
20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with incremental annual leave.
Free gym / golf membership for you and a nominated person, depending on location.
    Employee health cash plan.
Pension scheme and company sick pay.
    Genuine career progression.
    Training and development opportunities.
    TO APPLY:
If you're an ambitious Business Development Manager, we'd love to hear from you!
