How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Project Manager - Civil Engineering & Groundworks

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience
    Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
    Position: Full-time, Permanent

Good civil engineering projects don't just happen. Behind every successful scheme is someone keeping the people, programme, costs and site operations moving in the right direction.

We're recruiting a Project Manager for an established civil engineering and groundworks contractor based in Doncaster, delivering projects across Yorkshire and the surrounding regions.

With over 30 years of industry experience behind the business, they work across residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure developments, providing everything from initial site preparation through to major groundworks and concrete construction.

Their work includes deep excavations, foundations, reinforced concrete structures, drainage and attenuation, roads, sewers and service yard slabs.

It's varied, hands-on construction work, and they're looking for someone who understands what it takes to deliver it properly.

    The Role

As Project Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing civil engineering and groundworks projects, working closely with site teams, subcontractors and clients to keep everything on track.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    *

Managing projects from pre-start through to completion

    *

Coordinating site teams, labour, plant and subcontractors

    *

Overseeing programmes, procurement and project costs

    *

Monitoring progress, quality and health and safety

    *

Working with clients and the wider management team

    About You

We're looking for someone who knows civil engineering and groundworks, understands the challenges of working on site and can manage projects confidently from start to finish.

    Ideally, you'll have:

    *

Project Management experience in civil engineering or groundworks

    *

Strong knowledge of drainage, foundations, earthworks or reinforced concrete

    *

Experience managing site teams and subcontractors

    *

Good commercial awareness and programming knowledge

    *

Relevant construction qualifications, ideally SMSTS and CSCS

    Why Join?

You'll be joining an established specialist contractor with experienced in-house teams, its own plant and machinery, and a broad range of civil engineering capabilities.

This is a role for someone who enjoys being involved in the detail of construction, making decisions, solving problems and seeing projects through from the ground up.

If you're a Project Manager with a solid civil engineering or groundworks background, this could be well worth a conversation.

Salary: £55,000 to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience.
