How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    SEN Post-16 Teacher

    Prospero Teaching is currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Secondary / Post-16 Teacher to join a specialist provision supporting young people with additional needs preparing for adulthood, further education, and independent living.

    The provision caters for students aged 11-19 with a range of needs, including Autism (ASC), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and SEMH needs. The school is committed to providing a structured, supportive, and engaging environment that equips students with both academic knowledge and essential life skills.

    This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about SEN and preparing young people for their next stage of education, employment, and independence.

    The Role

    As an SEN Secondary / Post-16 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to students working at a range of academic levels. You will support learners in developing key academic, vocational, social, and life skills to prepare them for future success.

    Key Responsibilities

    Planning and delivering engaging lessons for SEN learners aged 11-19
    Supporting students with EHCPs and individual learning targets
    Developing students' communication, independence, and life skills
    Preparing learners for further education, employment, and adulthood
    Working closely with support staff, therapists, and parents
    Monitoring progress and maintaining accurate pupil records
    Creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment

    Experience & Qualifications

    QTS, QTLS, or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
    Experience teaching within SEN, Secondary, or Further Education settings
    Understanding of Autism, Learning Difficulties, and SEMH needs
    Strong classroom management and communication skills
