How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    £18.37ph + Paid Overtime + Excellent Benefit package including sickness benefit scheme and generous pension scheme.
    * Monday - Thursday 7.45am – 5pm Friday - 7.45am - 10.45am Flexi-Time and Overtime available

    We are working with a respected client of ours based in Manchester who are recruiting for a CNC Miller Setter / Operator to work on Mazak machines and use Mazatrol programming and CNC Turners working on QT250/Proturn.
    The Job for CNC Millers
    * Set up and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis as applicable)
    * Create part programmes when necessary
    * Load programs, set tool offsets, and perform test runs
    * Select appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job
    * Monitor machining processes and make necessary adjustments
    * Carry out in process inspection using measuring tools (callipers, micrometres, gauges, etc.)
    * Maintain tight tolerances and surface finish requirements
    * Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
    * Identify and correct machining defects or errors
    The Job for CNC Turners
    * Set up and operate CNC turning machines (CNC lathes)
    * Create part programmes when necessary
    * Load CNC programs, set tool offsets, and prove out programs
    * Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts, and fixtures
    * Monitor machining processes and adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets as required
    * Produce components to tight tolerances and surface finish requirements
    * Carry out in process inspection using measuring equipment (micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, etc.)
    * Identify and correct machining errors or defects
    * Carry out routine machine maintenance and basic troubleshooting
    * Maintain accurate production and inspection records
    About you
    * Proven experience as a CNC Turner/Miller or CNC Machinist
    * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
    * Experience with CNC controls (e.g., Fanuc, Siemens, Haas, Mazatrol, Heidenhain)
    * Experience with live tooling and Y-axis machines is an advantage
    * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
    * Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    Education and Experience
    * Technical qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent in machining
