How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

CNC Supervisor / Team Leader - Nights

    Location: Devizes, Wiltshire
Salary: From £16.26 per hour, depending on experience, plus night shift allowance
    Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Sunday 23:00-06:00, Monday to Thursday 22:00-06:00

We're recruiting for a CNC Supervisor / Team Leader to join an established precision engineering and manufacturing business in Devizes.

This is a hands-on position combining CNC machining expertise with responsibility for supporting and leading the night-shift production team. You'll help ensure machinery runs efficiently, production targets are met and work is completed to the required quality and safety standards.

The role would suit an experienced CNC machinist who has already taken on supervisory or team leadership responsibilities and is confident managing production activities with limited support during the night shift.

    The Role

Lead and support the night-shift production team, allocating work and monitoring progress.

Set and operate CNC machinery, including EDM equipment where applicable.

Monitor production output, quality and machine performance.

Deal with day-to-day production issues and support problem solving.

Ensure engineering drawings, specifications and quality requirements are followed.

Promote safe working practices and maintain good housekeeping standards.

Support continuous improvement and the development of team members.

    About You

Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is essential, alongside a strong practical background in CNC machining.

    You'll ideally have:

Experience setting and operating CNC machinery within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

The ability to read engineering drawings and use precision measuring equipment.

Experience supporting production, maintaining quality and resolving technical issues.

Good communication skills and the confidence to make decisions independently.

A responsible and organised approach to leading a team on nights.

Experience with EDM machinery, machine maintenance, Lean manufacturing techniques, CAD/CAM or offline programming would be beneficial. Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 or AS9100 would also be an advantage.

    What's on Offer

    Permanent, full-time employment.

Night shift working pattern with a shift allowance.

An opportunity to develop your supervisory experience within precision engineering.

    Training and development where required.

A hands-on role combining machining skills with team leadership
