How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client is a globally recognised leader in advanced automotive and industrial manufacturing, supplying high-performance components and systems to major OEM customers across the automotive, construction, agricultural, and engine power sectors.

Based in West Yorkshire and part of a major global engineering group, the business combines the scale and resources of an international organisation with a strong focus on innovation, manufacturing excellence, and continuous improvement.

As the business continues to grow and develop its manufacturing operations, they are looking to strengthen their Production Engineering team with an experienced Process Engineer.

    The Role

A hands-on Process Engineering position with responsibility for supporting a defined manufacturing area and driving improvements across new product introduction, process development, equipment, productivity, quality, and manufacturing performance.

You will take ownership of engineering projects from initial concept through to implementation, including capital expenditure projects, new equipment introduction, process development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Design, and external suppliers, you will play a key role in ensuring manufacturing processes are efficient, capable, safe, and aligned with customer and business requirements.

The role would suit a Process or Manufacturing Engineer with experience within an automotive Tier 1, FMCG, or similarly demanding manufacturing environment, who enjoys solving complex technical problems and delivering measurable improvements.

    What's in it for you?
    Salary: £40,000

    Key Responsibilities

    * Plan, implement, and monitor new product and product variant introductions

    * Apply APQP methodologies throughout the NPI process

    * Develop and optimise manufacturing processes, identifying appropriate work methods, equipment, tooling, and process controls.

    * Define requirements for new manufacturing equipment and work collaboratively with machine design, production, quality, purchasing, and other stakeholders

    * Lead and implement continuous improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing and PDCA methodologies.

    * Identify opportunities to improve production capacity, output, first-run capability, cycle times, OEE, quality, and overall process efficiency.

    * Drive reductions in scrap and rework

    * Improve manufacturing safety, ergonomics, material flow, and production cell layouts.

    * Manage engineering and process changes in accordance with company procedures and quality systems.

    * Provide technical support to production teams, investigating process and equipment issues and implementing both immediate containment and long-term corrective solutions.

    * Lead and contribute to improvement projects, managing cost, quality, timing, resources, and implementation.

    * Participate in design reviews, influencing product and process development to ensure effective Design for Manufacture and Design for Test.

    * Manage relationships with external equipment and process suppliers, overseeing procurement, development, performance, and delivery.

    * Develop and maintain key manufacturing documentation, including PFMEA, Process Control Plans, operator instructions, and related process documentation.

    * Support the ongoing development and optimisation of manufacturing processes to improve productivity, quality, cost, and operational performance.

    * Experience of managing or supporting NPI projects and activities.

    * Strong understanding of structured problem-solving techniques and a proven ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.

    * Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and use it to drive process improvements.

    * Good understanding of manufacturing equipment and production processes.

    * Knowledge of CAD systems, ideally AutoCAD, for the development of parts, tooling, layouts, and manufacturing solutions.

    * Ability to learn and adopt new technologies and manufacturing processes.

    Desirable Experience
