Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Manufacturing & Engineering – both sites (Newent & Leicester):
Focus on process improvement and engineering for all aspects of manufacturing across both sites to maximize output and enable flexibility of workforce and machinery usage
Line management of Newent Manufacturing & Engineering Manager, providing mentoring and guidance on day-to-day activities
Accountable for all Maintenance & Engineering activities
Line management of Newent Plant Engineer, providing mentoring and guidance on day-to-day activities
Work with the Leicester Production Manager to monitor and control use of production labour and minimize overtime
To develop and maintain high levels of machine preventive maintenance throughout the workplace and promote good housekeeping regimes across both sites
Develop relationships with 3rd party providers – machinery, installation, parts – to ensure cost efficiencies and ongoing support partnerships for both sites
Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are achieved across site for all electrical, mechanical and utilities supply
To ensure that everyone on site follows and adheres to Health and Safety requirements and that they lead by example on how people should perform their roles safely
Work closely with the board of directors to help achieve the overall objectives of both sites
JCK Timber Operation - Leicester:
Work with the Commercial Operations Manager to understand the incoming order flow and to ensure the production plan meets desired delivery dates
Line management of Commercial Operations Manager and Production Manager, providing mentoring and guidance on day-to-day activities
Communicate clearly and regularly with the Leicester team to ensure that everyone is aware of the daily / weekly and monthly priorities in order to achieve the budget.
Develop and implement plans and strategies to recover shortfalls in production and to work with the management to ensure these plans are implemented successfully and on time
Working closely with the Technical team to ensure that all doorset compliance - fire, smoke, security and energy - is being adhered to during sales process
Recommend ways in which the output can be improved, or costs can be reduced to improve profitability and efficiency of the business
Skills, abilities and characteristics
Experienced Operations leader who is able to deal with a variety of challenges – manufacturing, engineering, commercial and compliance
Previous experience of managing engineering teams to ensure the manufacturing units are supported with consistent machinery output and minimal downtime
Engineering background and relevant qualifications
Highly organised approach to work and able to react positively to demands from the business
Strong leadership skills with clear focus on developing team members
Excellent communication skills and an ability to influence individuals
Positive approach to work with a passion to succeed

Salary range will be £80,000 to £100,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
