How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Behaviour Mentor – SEN School

    Location: Guildford, Surrey

    Philosophy Education is seeking a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to work in a specialist school in Guildford, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

    This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is committed to making a positive difference in the lives of young people, helping them overcome barriers to learning, develop positive behaviours and reach their full potential.

    The school provides a supportive and nurturing environment where positive relationships, high expectations and personalized support are central to its approach to education.

    The RoleAs a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils to promote positive behaviour, improve engagement and develop emotional resilience. You will provide guidance, encouragement and consistent support, helping pupils build confidence, develop social skills and make positive choices.

    Your responsibilities will include:

    Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
    Supporting pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour.
    Promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation and self-esteem.
    Delivering targeted interventions to improve attendance, engagement and learning.
    Acting as a positive role model and encouraging pupils to develop independence.
    Working collaboratively with teaching staff, families and external professionals.
    Maintaining a safe, supportive and inclusive learning environment.The Ideal CandidateThe successful candidate will be caring, patient, resilient and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs. You will have excellent communication skills, a positive approach to behaviour management and the ability to build meaningful relationships with pupils who may face barriers to learning.

    Previous experience working in a school, special educational needs setting or a similar role supporting young people with SEMH needs would be advantageous.
