How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mechanical Engineer - (Fixed Term Contract)
    Medical Device
    Livingston
     
    Entrust Resource Solutions is recruiting an experienced Mechanical Engineer on behalf of a client within regulated manufacturing.
     
    This hands-on role will focus on maintaining and improving production equipment, resolving mechanical faults and supporting engineering projects to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
     
    The role:
    Working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams, you will:

    Diagnose mechanical faults, identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
    Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
    Support equipment installations, modifications and upgrades.
    Troubleshoot systems including vacuum pumps, steam, compressed air and pneumatics.
    Interpret technical drawings and maintain accurate engineering documentation.
    Contribute to continuous improvement projects and support technical training for manufacturing employees.
    Ensure all work meets relevant health, safety, quality and regulatory requirements. What we're looking for

    A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
    Strong practical mechanical engineering experience within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
    Proven experience in fault finding, root cause analysis and preventative maintenance.
    Experience of equipment modifications, installations and improvements.
    Confidence interpreting mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
    A practical approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams. Experience within pharmaceutical, medical device, life sciences or another regulated manufacturing environment would be advantageous. Cleanroom or aseptic manufacturing experience, alongside exposure to equipment commissioning, qualification or validation, would also be beneficial.
