How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Regional Engineering Manager, Fire & Security - Scotland - £50k-£70k

We are working with a well established national Fire & Security business that is looking to appoint a Regional Engineering Manager to take ownership of engineering delivery across Scotland.

This is a genuinely influential role for someone who knows the Fire & Security world, understands what good engineering delivery looks like and enjoys leading people, solving problems and raising standards.

You will be responsible for the regional engineering function across service, maintenance and installation, working closely with engineers, subcontractors and clients to make sure delivery is strong, standards are high and issues are dealt with quickly and effectively.

This is not a hands-on engineer role. It is a management position for someone who wants real responsibility, but who still has enough technical credibility to support engineers and step in as the escalation point when needed.

    What you will be doing

    • Managing Fire & Security engineers across Scotland, covering service, maintenance and installation

    • Providing clear leadership, support and direction to engineering teams

    • Acting as the senior escalation point for technical, operational and customer issues

    • Spending time out in the field with engineers and clients when additional support or senior input is needed

    • Overseeing the quality and consistency of engineering delivery across the region

    • Managing engineer performance, productivity, development and standards

    • Supporting service, reactive, remedial and installation activity

    • Working closely with customers to resolve issues, maintain strong relationships and keep delivery on track

    • Managing subcontractors and third-party delivery where required

    • Supporting surveys, quotations and additional works

    • Keeping a close eye on labour, materials, subcontractor costs, variations and overall commercial performance

    • Making sure work is completed safely, compliantly and to the right technical standards

    • Helping drive improvements across the region rather than simply maintaining the status quo

    What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with a strong background in the Fire & Security sector who has progressed into management and is already used to leading engineers and overseeing delivery.

    You will ideally have:

    • Experience managing Fire & Security engineers

    • A strong understanding of service, maintenance and installation environments

    • Technical knowledge across fire alarms, CCTV, access control and intruder systems

    • Experience acting as an escalation point for engineers and customers

    • Strong people management skills and the ability to get the best out of a field-based team

    • Good commercial awareness, including labour, materials, subcontractors, quotations, remedials or margin

    • Strong client-facing skills

    • Experience managing subcontractors

    • Good knowledge of relevant Fire & Security standards and compliance requirements

    • The confidence to take ownership of a regional operation and make decisions

Relevant qualifications such as BS 5839-1, BAFE or FIA training would be a bonus, but strong practical experience is equally important.

This is an opportunity with real regional ownership.

You will not just be managing a diary or sitting behind a desk. You will have influence over the people, standards, customer experience and commercial performance of the engineering function across Scotland.

For someone who enjoys leading teams, improving delivery and being trusted to run their region properly, this is a really strong opportunity within a national business with a broad Fire & Security offering.

If you are currently working as an Engineering Manager, Service Manager, Regional Service Manager, Installation Manager, Field Engineering Manager or Operations Manager within Fire & Security, I would be keen to speak with you.
