How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    About Buzz Education:

Buzz Education is a specialist education marketing business helping organisations connect with schools, teachers and education decision-makers across the UK.

We work with a wide range of organisations, from established education brands and visitor attractions to training providers, technology companies and businesses looking to grow within the education sector.

We're now looking for an experienced Sales & Client Development Manager to join our team and play an important role in the next stage of our growth.

    The role:

This is a varied sales role combining a strong existing flow of inbound enquiries with proactive business development.

You'll manage new opportunities from initial enquiry through to sale, understand what prospective clients are trying to achieve and recommend the most appropriate services.

Importantly, you won't be starting with an empty pipeline. Buzz already generates a consistent flow of inbound enquiries and has an established CRM containing previous customers and prospects.

Alongside converting inbound opportunities, you'll be expected to generate additional revenue through CRM reactivation, previous clients, dormant opportunities and carefully targeted outbound activity.

This isn't a high-volume cold-calling role. We're looking for someone who can have good commercial conversations, understand what a prospective client needs and build relationships.

    What you'll be doing:

Managing inbound sales enquiries from initial contact through to sale.
Understanding prospective clients' objectives and recommending appropriate services.
Preparing proposals and quotations and proactively following up opportunities.
Managing your sales pipeline and maintaining accurate CRM records.
Re-engaging previous clients, prospects and dormant opportunities.
Developing new opportunities through targeted outbound activity.
Identifying appropriate cross-sell opportunities across our range of services.
Building strong relationships with prospective clients.
Working closely with our marketing team to improve lead generation and sales conversion.
Sharing common questions, objections and market feedback to help improve our marketing and propositions.
Providing a clear handover to our client services team once new business has been won. What we're looking for

You'll ideally have previous experience in sales, business development, client development or a similar commercial role.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who:

Has a proven ability to convert opportunities into sales.
Is confident and natural speaking with prospective clients.
Takes a consultative approach rather than relying on scripts or aggressive sales techniques.
Is comfortable managing both inbound enquiries and proactive business development.
Is organised and disciplined about follow-up.
Can manage a healthy pipeline of opportunities through a CRM.
Is commercially minded and motivated by achieving targets.
Is curious about why opportunities are won or lost.
Enjoys contributing ideas rather than simply working through a list of leads.
Works well as part of a small, collaborative team.Experience within education, marketing, data or email marketing would be useful, but isn't essential.

    Benefits:

£30,000 - £32,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
Performance-related sales bonus with OTE of £40,000+.
An established flow of inbound opportunities.
A substantial CRM of previous customers and prospects to develop.
The opportunity to have a genuine impact on the growth of the business.
A varied role where you'll be encouraged to contribute ideas and help shape our sales approach.
The opportunity to work within an established specialist business with a strong track record in the education sector. If you're commercially ambitious, enjoy building relationships and like the idea of joining a business where there's already plenty of opportunity to develop, we'd love to hear from you.
