About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with 5 to 6 years of commercial construction experience in Gateshead.
In this office-based role, you will take full ownership of your own tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover. You will work across a variety of commercial build projects, applying strong analytical skills and robust contract knowledge across JCT Design & Build and NEC contract forms.
Key Responsibilities
Tender Management: Autonomously lead and manage tenders from receipt of enquiry to final submission and client presentation.
Costing & Take-Offs: Analyze tender documentation, prepare accurate material and labor take-offs, and produce detailed bills of quantities.
Contract Analysis: Review contract conditions and apply robust commercial/contractual understanding across JCT D&B and NEC frameworks.
Subcontractor & Supplier Enquiries: Obtain, compare, and negotiate competitive subcontractor tenders and material supply quotes.
Document Management: Utilize Viewpoint 4P to manage project correspondence, tender packages, and commercial records.
Handover & Team Collaboration: Work closely with the wider commercial and operational teams to ensure seamless project handovers upon successful bid award.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 5-6 years of experience as an Estimator within commercial build/construction.
Tender Autonomy: Proven track record of independently managing tenders from start to finish.
Contract Knowledge: Practical understanding and application of JCT Design & Build and NEC contract suites.
Software/Systems: Experience using Viewpoint 4P (or similar document management software).
Location: Fully office-based role in Gateshead with local regional project focus.
