The role involves the installation, servicing, maintenance and remedial works of mechanical process equipment at operational treatment sites.
Work Environment - Mechanical Fitter:
* Work around wastewater, waste and debris.
* Working outdoors
* Work on operational treatment sites
* Work in confined spaces where required and appropriately trained.
* Travel regularly and stay away from home, potentially for several nights at a time (Night out allowance paid)
* Company vehicle provided when working away
Responsibilities - Mechanical Fitter:
* Mechanical installation and assembly of equipment.
* Planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
* Reactive maintenance and remedial works.
* Removal and replacement of mechanical components.
* Dismantling and reassembly of equipment for inspection, repair or servicing.
* Working with motors, chains, sprockets, seals and other mechanical components.
* Drilling, cutting, grinding and general mechanical fitting.
* Identifying mechanical defects and assisting with fault finding.
* Working from drawings, instructions and RAMS.
* Confined space working where required and appropriately trained.
Previous water or wastewater experience would be beneficial but is not essential if you have a strong industrial mechanical background and understand the nature of the working environment.
Qualifications Required - Mechanical Fitter
● Full UK Driving Licence
● Confined Space – Medium Risk
● Critical Medical Certificate
● Appropriate vaccinations for working within the wastewater industry
● CSCS Card

40 hours per week
OT Rate at x 1.25
Saturday x 1.5
Sunday x 2.0
