How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, investor-backed machining business in the heart of the West Midlands.

    Everlinked is delighted to be partnering exclusively with an up-and-coming subcontract complex machining company based in Coventry. They produce highly technical, high-value components for Aerospace, Defence and Oil & Gas customers, and with strong investor backing and a growing order book, the business has genuine momentum and ambitious plans.

    They are now looking for a proven, technically minded estimator to join the team and play a key role in their next phase of growth.

    The role

    You will be responsible for turning complex enquiries into accurate, competitive quotations, directly influencing the profitability and success of the business. This is a role for someone who truly understands machining, not just someone who can price from a template. You'll look at a complex component and see the process, the setups, the tooling, the risks and the true cost.

    Key responsibilities

    * Review customer drawings, models and specifications and assess manufacturability

    * Produce accurate quotations based on a detailed understanding of machining processes, including cycle times, setups, fixturing, tooling, programming and inspection

    * Estimate complex multi-axis milling, turning, mill-turn and multi-operation components

    * Factor in materials, special processes, outside services, NDT and certification requirements

    * Work closely with programmers, production and quality teams, and review actual versus quoted performance

    * Identify technical risks and cost-saving opportunities early and communicate them clearly

    * Support management with commercial insight, pricing strategy and customer technical queries

    * Help refine and improve estimating methods and tools as the business scales

    The ideal candidate

    * Proven track record as an estimator within a complex precision machining environment

    * Strong, hands-on knowledge of machining processes, ideally from a shop-floor, programming or process engineering background

    * Experience quoting technically demanding work for Aerospace, Defence and/or Oil & Gas

    * Comfortable with difficult materials such as titanium, Inconel, stainless and high-strength steels

    * Confident reading complex engineering drawings and GD&T

    * Familiar with regulated-sector quality requirements (AS9100, ISO 9001, customer flow-downs)

    * Commercially astute, accurate and able to work to tight deadlines

    * A genuine passion for complex machining and a desire to grow with an ambitious business

    What's on offer

    * Salary of £50,000 – £60,000, depending on experience

    * Performance-related bonus

    * The chance to join a business with strong investor support and exceptional growth potential

    * Real influence and visibility, in a role where your input shapes how the company develops

    * A technically ambitious, quality-focused working environment
