How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Production Engineer

    Up to £45,000

    Career development | Permanent opportunity

Why consider the role of Production Engineer?

This is an opportunity to join a well-established, technically advanced manufacturing business where you'll have genuine scope to improve how things are made, introduce new ideas and see your engineering solutions make a measurable difference.

You'll work in a collaborative engineering environment with access to modern technology, strong technical expertise and opportunities to develop your career. The role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to work across process improvement, tooling, automation, manufacturing technology and continuous improvement rather than being confined to one area.

What's in it for you as Production Engineer:

A varied engineering role with real ownership and influence
Opportunities to deliver tangible improvements to manufacturing performance
    Supportive, collaborative technical environment
Scope to develop your Lean, automation and project engineering skills
Exposure to new manufacturing technologies and capital projects
Career development within an established and growing organisation
A strong focus on quality, safety and continuous improvement
    Excellent benefits package

    The opportunity as Production Engineer:

As Production Engineer, you'll help improve manufacturing processes from concept through to production. You'll work closely with production and engineering teams to solve problems, improve efficiency and introduce better ways of working.

    Your work will include:

Developing production processes, work instructions and technical documentation
Designing tooling, fixtures and production aids using 3D CAD
Improving layouts, workflows, ergonomics and production efficiency
Delivering Lean, Six Sigma and continuous improvement projects
    Troubleshooting manufacturing and equipment issues
Supporting automation, standardisation and new technology projects
    Developing testing and validation processes
Supporting capacity planning, costings and process optimisation
Leading equipment investment and implementation projects
Ensuring manufacturing processes meet quality, safety and regulatory standards

What you'll bring to the table as Production Engineer

You'll ideally have experience as a Production, Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineer within a high-mix manufacturing environment, alongside an HND (or equivalent) in an appropriate engineering discipline.

    You'll also bring:

Strong Lean / Six Sigma and problem-solving experience
    3D CAD capability, ideally SolidWorks
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing routings
Strong analytical, communication and project skills
Experience implementing engineering or process changes
Six Sigma Green Belt (or above) would also be beneficial.
