How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    E-commerce Trading Manager | Premium Sports Retail | £65,000-£75,000

Location: South West London | Hybrid (3 days in office)
    Salary: £65,000-£75,000
Sector: Premium Sports, Cycling & Performance Retail

A career-defining opportunity for an ambitious E-commerce Trading Manager who wants to become a future Head of E-commerce.

Zachary Daniels is proud to be partnering with one of the most prestigious names in premium sports retail to recruit an exceptional E-commerce Trading Manager.

This is a brand with an incredible heritage, a passionate customer base and serious ambitions for the future. Following a major investment in its digital platform, including a newly launched headless Shopify Plus website, the business is entering an exciting new phase of innovation and growth.

We're looking for someone who can take ownership of online trading, push the boundaries of search and merchandising, and turn cutting-edge technology into commercial performance.

This isn't a role for someone who simply manages a website. It's for someone who wants to transform how an ambitious sports retailer trades online.

    The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Digital, you'll take ownership of e-commerce trading performance, lead a small team and play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of the brand's digital experience.

You'll work with an impressive technology stack including Shopify Plus, Algolia and AI-powered tools, with the freedom to test, innovate and make a genuine commercial impact.

    Your focus will include:

Search & Merchandising: Take hands-on ownership of on-site search, product discovery, ranking, relevance and merchandising, using platforms such as Algolia to drive conversion.

E-commerce Trading: Own online trading performance, promotional activity, sales, conversion, average order value and profitability.

Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO): Identify opportunities across the customer journey, build testing programmes and turn insight into measurable growth.

AI & Innovation: Use Claude Code or equivalent AI tools to develop smarter analysis, automations and trading solutions.

Shopify Plus: Maximise the commercial potential of a newly launched headless Shopify Plus platform.

Leadership: Manage and develop a Digital Trading & Merchandising Executive while working closely with Buying, Marketing, CRM and Digital teams.

    What We're Looking For

We're interested in commercially sharp, technically confident e-commerce professionals who understand what exceptional online trading looks like.

    You'll ideally bring:

Strong experience in e-commerce trading, online merchandising or digital trading, preferably within a premium retail or consumer brand.

Genuine, hands-on expertise in search and merchandising platforms, ideally Algolia, or alternatives such as Bloomreach, Constructor or Klevu.

A proven track record of improving conversion, product discovery, website performance and online revenue.

Practical experience using AI tools such as Claude Code to build automations, analysis or commercially useful solutions.

Strong analytical skills, including GA4, and the confidence to make data-led trading decisions.

Experience of Shopify Plus, ideally within a modern, fast-moving digital environment.

The ambition, leadership potential and commercial mindset to progress towards a Head of E-commerce position.

Experience within cycling, triathlon, fitness, running, sportswear, performance nutrition or premium sports equipment would be particularly interesting. We're looking for someone who understands the mindset of athletes and performance-driven customers, whether through their career or personal passion.

    Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to join a respected sports brand at a genuine turning point in its digital journey.

The technology investment is in place. The ambition is significant. The opportunity to challenge the market is real.

What the business needs now is an outstanding e-commerce trading professional who can connect technology, product discovery and commercial performance to unlock the next stage of growth.

You'll have visibility, ownership, the opportunity to influence strategy and a clear platform to develop towards senior digital leadership.

If you're an ambitious E-commerce Trading Manager who loves the intersection of sport, technology and commercial performance, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today or contact Zachary Daniels for a confidential conversation.
