How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Our client has an exciting new position available for a Customs & Freight Test Analyst with a strong background in customs declarations and import/export freight forwarding to join the Quality Assurance team. This is a unique opportunity for someone with industry-specific knowledge who is looking to transition into or grow within the field of software quality assurance. This person must be an enthusiastic, self-starting problem solver with the ability to learn new technologies quickly. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who is both a good fit for our team and is approachable.

The role – Customs & Freight Test Analyst

Our client is a leading provider of customs clearance software and services in the UK. We help freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics companies streamline import and export processes by ensuring smooth integration with HMRC systems and facilitating efficient, compliant trade operations.

The product that is actively being developed, is a mature application (client/server) which started life in mid 2000’s and has been deployed to live customers since 2011. Alongside this flagship product, we are building a new web-based front-end (greenfield development).

This is an exciting time for us, and the successful applicant will be working with cutting edge technologies on both projects. As a company, we’re expanding our QA team so that we can continue building high quality software.
