How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    EPC Commercial Director (Wind Energy)

    You must be based in or commutable to Glasgow

    This will include some travel to sites but these are mostly local

    Up to £125,000 Dependant on experience + Car / Car Allowance + Bonus Scheme (up to 20-30%) + Benefits + Pension

    Are you from a construction background within the wind, high voltage or solar sector looking to step into a Commercial Director role where you will lead the commercial delivery of major renewable energy projects and play a key role in an ambitious companys continued growth?

    Do you want a highly autonomous position where you can take ownership of the commercial strategy for major onshore wind projects, from initial feasibility and appraisal through to procurement, contract negotiation and mobilisation?

    This is an exciting opportunity to join an innovative, well-established and highly respected business at a key stage of growth. As part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will have significant influence over the commercial direction of the business, taking responsibility for project performance, contract management, procurement and financial outcomes.

With a strong reputation and continued organic growth, they are well positioned for further expansion and offer an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the development of their renewable energy portfolio.

    This role would suit someone already operating at Director level, or a Commercial Manager, Business Manager, General Manager or similar looking to take the next step into a senior leadership position. You will need strong experience across renewable energy projects, with onshore wind experience essential and solar or high voltage experience advantageous.

    The Role:

    Take ownership of the commercial direction of the Renewables division, leading the strategy for major onshore wind projects throughout the pre-construction phase

    Lead projects from feasibility and appraisal through to budgeting, procurement, contract negotiation and mobilisation

    Oversee commercial due diligence, financial performance and risk management, working closely with engineering and project teams to ensure projects are commercially viable and construction ready

    The Person:

    Experienced commercial leader at Director level, or Commercial Manager / Commercial Lead ready to step into a Senior Leadership role

    Strong experience delivering pre-construction renewable energy projects, including feasibility, financial management, contract management and programme delivery

    Essential onshore wind experience, with solar or high voltage experience advantageous

    Looking to take ownership of major renewable energy projects within a growing organisation, with excellent progression and earning potential
