How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    As a Project Accountant in the industrial and manufacturing sector, you'll play a key role in managing project finances, ensuring accurate reporting and supporting business decisions. Based in Alfreton, you'll handle day-to-day financial tasks that keep projects on track and compliant.

    An organisation specialising in the industrial and manufacturing sector, located in Alfreton.

    Description

    They need a hands-on finance transformation/project professional who can come into the business, understand the current processes, fix gaps and leave behind clear, documented and sustainable processes.

    WIP & Non-Stocked Processes - Map how transactions flow, identify process owners, improve understanding and ensure monthly reconciliations are completed correctly.
    Process & SOP Review - Review existing finance processes, identify gaps and create a central, up-to-date library of SOPs with clear controls and ownership.
    Intrastat - Review SKU commodity/tariff coding, identify gaps, improve the process and establish clear ownership and review points to reduce manual work and compliance risk.
    Cashflow Forecasting - Build a simple, accurate and easy-to-maintain rolling 12-week cashflow forecast, including a process to review forecast accuracy.
    Fixed Assets / Syspro - Clean and verify the existing Excel fixed asset register, migrate it into Syspro, test transactions and postings, create reconciliation processes and document the full asset lifecycle.
    COA Rationalisation - Review and simplify the Chart of Accounts, remove duplicate/unnecessary GL codes, define cost centre ownership and create clear coding guidance.
    Budget & Forecast / Syspro - Create a template to upload budgets and forecasts into Syspro, reducing spreadsheet linking and creating a single source of truth.
    Reporting Transformation - Review and rationalise the existing reporting suite and RGH reporting, remove duplicate spreadsheets, create consistent reporting packs and improve visibility of budget, forecast, balance sheet and Group performance.Profile

    A successful Project Accountant should have:

    Strong experience in project accounting within the industrial and manufacturing sector.
    Proficiency in financial reporting and analysis.
    Knowledge of accounting systems and tools.
    Understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
    Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
    Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.Job Offer

    Daily rate between £450 and £550, dependent on the level of experience.
    Temporary contract offering flexibility.
