How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Role: QHSE Supervisor
    Location: Southam, Warwickshire
    Salary: c£50,000 per annum
    Hours: Full Time, Permanent - 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
    **Please note we are also considering candidates on a part-time basis, and the salary wuld be on a prorata basis**
    Overview
    We are seeking an experienced and proactive QHSE Supervisor / Manager to lead and continuously improve Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental activities across our Southam site. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining compliance, driving a positive safety culture, managing audits, and ensuring the organisation meets all quality and environmental standards.
    The successful candidate will take ownership of the company's ISO management systems, lead risk assessment activities, and manage ongoing permit requirements relating to site operations and environmental compliance.
    Key Responsibilities
    *
    Maintain and continuously improve the company's Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
    *
    Lead compliance activities relating to ISO 9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems), and ISO 45001 (International standard for occupational health and safety (OH&S) management systems)
    *
    Plan, conduct and coordinate internal audits and support external certification audits.
    *
    Ensure all policies, procedures and work instructions remain current and compliant with relevant legislation and standards.
    *
    Carry out and review risk assessments, safe systems of work, and control measures across the site.
    *
    Investigate incidents, accidents and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
    *
    Monitor and report on QHSE performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
    *
    Promote a positive safety culture through training, coaching and employee engagement.
    *
    Manage contractor compliance and site inductions.
    *
    Take ownership of all site permits, licences and approvals, ensuring compliance with statutory and environmental requirements.
    *
    Liaise with regulatory bodies, auditors and external stakeholders as required.
    *
    Support environmental improvement initiatives, waste management activities and sustainability objectives.
    *
    Ensure compliance with current UK health, safety and environmental legislation.
    Candidate Requirements
    Essential
    *
    Proven experience within a QHSE Supervisor, QHSE Manager, HSE Manager, SHEQ Manager or similar role.
    *
    Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
    *
    Experience managing internal and external audits.
    *
    Demonstrable experience conducting and reviewing risk assessments.
    *
    Experience managing site permits, licences and environmental compliance activities.
    *
    Strong understanding of UK Health & Safety legislation.
    *
    Ability to influence and drive behavioural change across all levels of an organisation.
    *
    Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
    *
    Competent with Microsoft Office and management reporting.
    Desirable
    *
    NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
    *
    Internal or Lead Auditor qualification.
    *
    Experience within manufacturing, engineering, automotive or industrial environments.
    *
    Knowledge of environmental permitting requirements and regulatory compliance.
    *
    IOSH Membership or equivalent professional accreditation.
