How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Teaching Assistant
    Provision: Secondary School Learner Hub
    Location: Swanwick (DE55)
    Pay Scale: Between £410 and £450 a week (after deductions)
    Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday, Full Time
    Start Date: ASAP

    Long Term Futures are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Learner Hub in Swanwick. The Learner Hub provides a small, supportive alternative to the mainstream classroom for students who require additional help to engage successfully with their education. With class sizes of no more than six students, the provision offers a calm and nurturing environment where learners can receive more individualised academic and pastoral support. You will work closely with students who may find a mainstream classroom challenging, helping them to remain engaged with their learning, build confidence and make positive progress.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the Learner Hub, working with groups of up to six students.
    Support learners who require additional help away from the mainstream classroom environment.
    Work under the guidance of the SENCO and teaching staff to deliver tailored support strategies.
    Adapt learning resources and approaches to meet individual needs.
    Support students across core subjects, including maths, English and science.
    Promote positive behaviour and help students develop confidence, resilience and independence.
    Help maintain a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment.Who We're Looking For

    A minimum Level 3 qualification is essential.
    Previous experience supporting children or young people on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
    Experience supporting students with SEN, additional needs or barriers to learning would be highly beneficial.
    A patient, adaptable and supportive approach.
    Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
    A genuine desire to encourage learners who may need additional support to succeed in education.
