Location: Colindale, London Rate: £34.31 per hour Umbrella Contract: Locum / Agency Service: Urgent Response Occupational Therapy
We are recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join a busy Urgent Response OT team covering the London Borough of Barnet.
This role is ideal for an OT with strong manual handling and moving & handling assessment experience who is confident working autonomously and responding to urgent and complex situations.
Key Responsibilities
* Complete urgent Occupational Therapy and Moving & Handling Risk Assessments.
* Assess and manage high-risk transfers and manual handling situations.
* Respond to safeguarding concerns relating to equipment and manual handling.
* Assess individuals who are unable to safely transfer, mobilise or use stairs.
* Recommend appropriate equipment and care arrangements to reduce risk.
* Complete assessments where equipment is unavailable, inappropriate or no longer suitable.
* Assess requests to increase care from single-handed to double-handed care.
* Undertake visits across the London Borough of Barnet.
* Participate in one duty OT day per week.
* Work collaboratively with service users, carers and health and social care professionals.
About You
* Qualified Occupational Therapist with current HCPC registration.
* Excellent manual handling and moving & handling experience.
* Confident working independently and making professional decisions.
* Experience working within a fast-paced community or urgent response environment.
* Strong risk assessment and safeguarding awareness.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Positive, proactive approach and ability to work effectively within a small team.
* Driving is desirable due to borough-wide visits.
