How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    About the Role
Affinity Staff Limited is recruiting resilient, dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our agency team supporting an established, Ofsted-registered children's residential provider in the Solihull area.
In this role, you will provide vital day-to-day stability, structure, and therapeutic support to children and young people who have experienced trauma, complex emotional needs, or adverse childhood experiences. This position offers flexible shift patterns (day shifts, waking nights, and sleep-ins) to fit your schedule.
    Key Responsibilities
    * Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in alignment with Ofsted standards and individual therapeutic care plans.
    * Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people to promote emotional well-being and personal growth.
    * Support daily routines including education attendance, life skills development, recreational activities, and meal times.
    * Proactively manage challenging behaviors using calm, de-escalation techniques and therapeutic care approaches.
    * Maintain clear, accurate shift logs, incident reports, and risk assessments.
    * Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment for all residents.
    About You
    * Minimum 6–12 months of direct experience working with vulnerable children or young people in residential childcare, youth work, or specialized care settings.
    * NVQ / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce) is preferred, or working towards it.
    * Strong communication skills, high resilience, and a calm, empathetic manner under pressure.
    * Full UK Driving Licence (preferred for transporting young people to appointments and activities).
    * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to undergo a check).
    What’s on Offer
    * Competitive Weekly Pay: Top-tier temp agency rates paid weekly with premium rates for weekends, nights, and bank holidays.
    * Flexible Shifts: Choose from early, late, long day, waking night, and sleep-in shift options.
    * Support & Development: Access to free refresher training modules in de-escalation, safeguarding, and trauma-informed care.
    * Dedicated Support: 24/7 access to your experienced agency recruitment consultant.
