How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Your new company

Hays Education are working with a wide range of primary schools across Solihull and the surrounding areas and are looking to recruit enthusiastic and reliable teachers for supply work throughout the academic year.

We work closely with local schools and regularly support them with day-to-day cover, short-term absences and longer-term staffing requirements. Whether you're looking for flexible work around other commitments, a better work-life balance, or a route into a longer-term role, we'd be keen to hear from you.

    Your new role

As a Primary Supply Teacher, you'll have the opportunity to work across a variety of primary schools covering EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

Opportunities range from day-to-day supply and short-term cover through to longer-term placements, maternity cover, PPA cover and fixed-term teaching positions. Many of our teachers enjoy the flexibility of supply work, while others use it as a way of securing longer-term roles within schools they enjoy working in.

Whether you're available one day a week or looking for regular teaching work throughout the academic year, we can help find opportunities that suit your availability and preferences.

    What you'll need to succeed

    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Recent experience teaching within a UK primary school
Good knowledge of the primary curriculum
Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
    Flexibility and adaptability
    Excellent communication and organisational skills
    A positive and professional approach
    What you'll get in return

    Competitive rates of pay
Flexible work to suit your availability
Access to day-to-day and long-term opportunities
Opportunities across EYFS, KS1 and KS2
Opportunity to work in a variety of Solihull primary schools
Access to CPD through the Hays Learning Platform
Simple digital tools through the Hays App
£250 in vouchers when you refer a teacher who completes 20 days
Ongoing support from your dedicated Hays consultant
