How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Speech & Language Teaching Assistant - Maidenhead - Immediate Start

    Are you passionate about supporting children with their communication and language development? Do you want to make a meaningful difference in the life of a young learner?

    A welcoming and inclusive school in Maidenhead is seeking a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

    This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant who is considering a future career in Speech and Language Therapy, Education, Psychology, Special Educational Needs (SEN), or Social Work and wants to gain valuable hands-on experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs.

    As a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual pupils and small groups, providing targeted support to help develop their speech, language, communication, and social interaction skills. You will work alongside teachers, the SEN team, and other professionals to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and build confidence in the classroom.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Speech & Language Support: Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with speech, language, and communication needs.
    Implement Strategies: Support speech and language activities and interventions recommended by teachers, SEN staff, or Speech and Language Therapists.
    Facilitate Learning: Help pupils access the curriculum by adapting activities, modelling language, and using appropriate communication strategies.
    Develop Communication Skills: Encourage pupils to develop their vocabulary, listening, understanding, expressive language, and social communication skills.
    Track Progress: Monitor and record pupils' progress and share observations with the class teacher, SENCO, and relevant professionals.
    Promote Confidence: Create a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages pupils to communicate, participate, and develop independence.
    Collaborate: Work closely with teachers, the SEN team, parents, and external professionals to provide consistent support and implement effective strategies.Role Details:

    Salary: £92.59 - £95 per day
