How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Vehicle Prepper

    Location: Maidenhead

    Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum + Benefits

    Hours: Monday to Friday

    An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Vehicle Prepper to join a busy, insurance-led Accident Repair Centre in Maidenhead.

    Working within a modern and well-equipped Bodyshop, you will be responsible for preparing vehicles and panels to a high standard before they move through to the Paint Technician, ensuring all surfaces are correctly prepared and ready for painting.

    This role would suit an experienced Vehicle Prepper, Paint Prepper or Bodyshop Prepper with a strong background in an Accident Repair Centre or Bodyshop environment.

    The Main Purpose of the Role

    * Prepare damaged vehicle panels and bodywork ready for painting.

    * Carry out sanding, flatting and preparation of panels to achieve a smooth and even surface.

    * Apply primers, fillers and other preparation products where required.

    * Prepare repaired and replacement panels in line with repair methods.

    * Mask vehicles and components ready for the painting process.

    * Identify imperfections, scratches and other defects before vehicles move into the paint stage.

    * Carry out de-nibbing and final preparation work where required.

    * Remove and refit trims, mouldings and other components as necessary to allow repairs to be completed correctly.

    * Work closely with Panel Beaters and Paint Technicians to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the Bodyshop.

    * Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales.

    You Will Have

    * Previous experience as a Vehicle Prepper, Paint Prepper or Bodyshop Prepper.

    * Experience working within an Accident Repair Centre or Bodyshop environment.

    * Strong experience in sanding, filling, priming and panel preparation.

    * Good understanding of the vehicle repair and painting process.

    * Ability to identify imperfections and ensure panels are correctly prepared before painting.

    * Experience working on a range of vehicle makes and models.

    * Relevant automotive qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.

    * Salary up to £40,000 per annum.
