How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Passive Fire Department Manager – Fire Doors, Compartmentation & Fire Stopping
    Location: Surrey & London
    Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 DOE + Commission + Benefits

    The Opportunity

    This is a rare and standout opportunity to join a well-established, family-run passive fire specialist at a pivotal stage of their growth. The business delivers fire door, compartmentation and fire stopping services across high-end residential and commercial properties in Surrey and London, with a strong reputation for quality, compliance and client relationships built over years of meticulous delivery.

    This is not a pure site management role — it is a full department management position covering the entire customer and project lifecycle across three disciplines. If you are technically strong, commercially minded and ready to take genuine ownership of a growing passive fire operation, this is the role for you.

    The Role

    As Passive Fire Department Manager, you will take full responsibility for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of fire door, compartmentation and fire stopping services. From managing initial enquiries and carrying out surveys, through to pricing, programming, delivery, compliance and handover — this role covers it all. You will manage employees, subcontractors and suppliers, maintain strong client relationships and keep management informed of workload, commercial performance and project progress throughout.

    Key Responsibilities

    Fire Doors

    * Manage the fire door inspection schedule, ensuring inspections are booked, completed on time and accurately recorded with all remedial actions followed through

    * Manage enquiries from new and existing clients, establish requirements and provide prompt, professional responses

    * Arrange and carry out site visits and surveys — assessing scope, taking measurements, identifying access and safety requirements

    * Prepare clear and accurate quotations covering labour, materials, plant, subcontractors and timescales — and follow up as required

    * Organise and programme works including agreeing dates with clients, coordinating access and allocating suitable employees or subcontractors

    * Order and coordinate the delivery of doors, ironmongery, materials and stock — ensuring the correct products are available when required

    * Manage works from instruction through to completion, monitoring quality, compliance, health and safety, progress, costs and client expectations

    * Prepare and maintain all required documentation including inspection reports, RAMS, photographs, completion records, certification and handover information

    Compartmentation & Fire Stopping

    * Manage enquiries, arrange and carry out site visits to inspect compartment lines and service penetrations, identify defects and confirm scope

    * Prepare clear and accurate quotations covering labour, fire stopping systems, materials, plant and subcontractors

    * Organise and programme works, coordinating access and allocating suitably trained operatives

    * Order and coordinate the delivery of tested and approved fire stopping products and materials

    * Manage works through to completion, monitoring installation quality, system compliance, health and safety, costs and client expectations

    * Prepare and maintain all documentation including survey reports, product information, photographic records, location drawings, installation records, certification and handover packs

    What We're Looking For

    * Proven experience across fire doors and fire stopping — compartmentation knowledge a strong advantage

    * Strong, demonstrated experience with BM TRADA — essential for this role

    * Experience managing a full project lifecycle from survey and pricing through to delivery and handover

    * Strong client-facing and communication skills — comfortable as the primary point of contact for clients

    * Experience managing employees, subcontractors and suppliers across live projects

    * Confident carrying out site surveys and intrusive fire door inspections

    * Knowledge of FIRAS, IFC or similar accreditation schemes — desirable

    * Experience using digital reporting and documentation systems

    What's On Offer

    * £50,000 – £60,000 per annum depending on experience

    * Commission structure — 20% on new business generated, 10% on referrals

    * 26 days holiday

    * Fuel card

    * Parking paid for

    * Expenses covered directly — no reimbursement process

    * Senior role with genuine autonomy and department ownership
