How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Are you a Criminology graduate looking to gain valuable experience working with children with additional needs before pursuing a career in Youth Justice, Educational Psychology, Social Work, Probation, Mental Health, or the Police?

    A supportive and welcoming SEN school in Trowbridge is seeking a dedicated and resilient Criminology Graduate to join their team as an SEN Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting children with Autism (ASC), ADHD, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and other additional learning needs.

    As a Criminology Graduate - SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils on a one-to-one and small group basis, helping them to engage with learning, develop positive behaviours, and build confidence in the classroom. You'll work alongside experienced teachers and specialist staff, developing practical skills in behaviour management, safeguarding, communication, and supporting vulnerable young people.

    This role is particularly well suited to graduates considering careers in Youth Offending Services, Social Work, Educational Psychology, Mental Health, Probation, or Teaching.

    Key Responsibilities - Criminology Graduate - SEN Teaching Assistant

    Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
    Support pupils with behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
    Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated learning activities.
    Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence.
    Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.
    Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.What We're Looking For

    A degree in Criminology (or a closely related subject).
    A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    A patient, resilient, and proactive approach.
    The ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
    Experience working with children or vulnerable young people is desirable but not essential.Role Details
