How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Migrant Help have an exciting opportunity to recruit a TESS Administrator to join our team!

    Location: Paisley, Glasgow.

    Contract:  Full time, Fixed term until 30 September 2027 (with potential to be extended or made permanent)

    Salary: £26,739, - Increasing to £29,602 following successful completion of a 6 months probation period

    The TESS Administrator role:

    Part of the Trafficking and Exploitation Survivors' Service (TESS) team, the TESS Administrator is a diverse and exciting role at Migrant Help. You will be expected to work engagingly with our diverse client group, most of whom will be entering the service having recently been through trauma. You will take a pro-active approach towards managing and improving administrative duties, including financial processes as determined by the Regional Manager. You will work consistently to support with the continuous development of the service ensuring all processes and procedures are followed efficiently, consistently and with professionalism at all times. You will be expected to contribute to the overall success of the organisation in accordance with Migrant Help's aims, objectives, vision and values.

    Key responsibilities of our TESS Administrator:

    Responsible for the weekly administration of finance payments to clients, maintaining the finance payment system throughout the week and efficiently responding to client payment needs.

    Ensure that all finance data recording systems are kept up to-date, accurate and consistent with quality standards.

    Responsible for ensuring the accurate completion of Migrant Help internal Purchase Orders and invoices and liaising with the Finance department as and when required.

    Ensure the accuracy of invoices received into the service, before submitting to the Regional Manager for approval.

    To act as a front of house/first point of contact for engagement with the service (phone and email) including new referrals into the service.

    To set up and maintain electronic files for new referrals and input information on the database.

    The experience and skills you need as our TESS Administrator:

    Demonstrable experience in an administrative capacity, particularly with budgets, accounting, invoicing and other financial processes, including reconciliation.

    Demonstrable experience of working face to face with members of the public.

    Experience and understanding of working with external agencies.

    Experience of working with people in potentially sensitive and emotionally demanding situations.

    Working knowledge of UK Immigration / Asylum Legislation and the National Referral Mechanism.

    Experience of working in the voluntary sector.

    Experience of working in a multicultural environment.

    Experience of working in a Social Care setting and working with clients who present with complex needs, including mental health and substance mis-use.
