The Role – Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team from October 2026. This is a long-term, full-time position for the full academic year, working within a mainstream primary school in Lewisham.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils throughout the school day. You will assist with classroom activities, provide additional support to pupils who require it and help create a positive and engaging learning environment.
The role will involve supporting pupils both individually and in small groups, assisting with classroom management and helping children to access the curriculum effectively. The ideal candidate will have a patient and nurturing approach, strong communication skills and a genuine passion for helping children develop and succeed.
Previous experience working within a school or educational setting is desirable, although candidates with relevant experience working with children will also be considered.
