How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Mortgage Broker

    Independent Mortgage Brokerage - Essex
    Salary: £30,000 + uncapped commission
    Full-time | Hybrid working | Monday-Friday + alternate Saturdays

    An established and growing mortgage advisory and brokerage firm is looking for an experienced Mortgage Broker to join its expanding team.

With strong relationships across the local property market, the company is well positioned to provide a consistent flow of client opportunities alongside opportunities for brokers to develop their own business.

    The Role

    We are looking for a motivated Mortgage Broker to join the team.

    You will be responsible for meeting clients, understanding their financial circumstances and objectives, and recommending appropriate mortgage solutions.

    The role is focused primarily on the advice and sales side of the mortgage process. You will draft and pitch mortgage cases before handing them over to a dedicated administration team to manage the ongoing administrative process.

    You will also have the opportunity to develop your own client relationships and generate additional business through referrals, networking and local business development.

    Key Responsibilities

    Conduct client appointments and assess financial circumstances and mortgage requirements.
    Provide clear, compliant advice on mortgage products and lending options.
    Recommend suitable mortgage solutions based on individual client circumstances.
    Advise clients on remortgaging and debt consolidation where appropriate.
    Prepare and present mortgage recommendations and applications.
    Liaise with lenders, estate agents, solicitors and other professional partners.
    Build strong, long-term relationships with clients.
    Manage multiple cases and provide clients with regular updates.
    Maintain accurate and compliant client records.
    Keep up to date with lender criteria, mortgage products, market developments and regulatory requirements.
    Contribute to local marketing, networking and business development activity.
    Work closely with the administration team following submission of cases.About You

    We're ideally looking for someone with 6-12 months' minimum mortgage broking experience.

    This could be particularly well suited to someone who has received strong initial training within a larger estate agency or mortgage network and is now looking for greater earning potential, support and flexibility.

    You'll ideally have:

    CeMAP, or CF1 and CF6.
    Previous experience as a Mortgage Broker or Mortgage Adviser.
    Good knowledge of mortgage products, affordability, interest rates and lending criteria.
    An understanding of debt consolidation and its implications for clients.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
    The ability to manage multiple client cases effectively.
    A professional, ethical and compliant approach.
    Confidence building relationships and generating new business.Salary & Commission

    £30,000 basic salary + uncapped commission

    The commission structure includes:

    40-50 leads provided per month
    £6,000 monthly fresh-hold target
    25% commission on business above the £6,000 threshold from provided leads
    35% commission on self-generated business - comprising the standard 25% plus an additional 10%

    The role offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement across several local locations in Essex:

    2 days per week working from a local estate agency branch
    2 days working from home
    1 day per week at the company's head office
    9:00am-6:00pm, Monday to Friday
    Every other Saturday, with a day off in lieu during the following weekDue to the requirement to travel between local branches and the head office, a full UK driving licence and access to a car would be advantageous.
