How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job Title: Technical Sales Manager

    Location: Near Ashford, Kent with free onsite parking. This role is office based with 1 day spent out visiting customers and developing business in your own car or a company pool car.

    Salary: £45,000 (OTE £55,000)

    Hours: Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm

    Annual leave: 20 days + Bank holidays

    The role:

    As the Technical Sales Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities. Acting as the key point of contact for clients, you will provide expert advice on product solutions, preparing quotations, negotiating contracts, and delivering outstanding customer service throughout the sales process.

    Working closely with the experienced technical sales team of 4, you will gain a detailed understanding of customer requirements and recommend the most suitable products from a wide range of leading manufacturers.

    This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, customer interaction, and playing a key role in the continued growth of a successful engineering business.

    Your key responsibilities would be to:

    Develop and manage relationships with existing and prospective customers.
    Identify, qualify, and convert new business opportunities.
    Respond to customer enquiries and provide technical sales support.
    Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and product recommendations.
    Negotiate commercial terms and close sales opportunities.
    Maintain accurate CRM records and sales activity reports.
    Work collaboratively with technical and operational teams to deliver customer solutions.
    Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support business growth strategies.
    Follow up quotations and leads to maximise conversion rates.
    Promote the company's extensive range of specialist products.
    Support customers through the full sales lifecycle, from enquiry through to order completion.
    Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, exhibitions and networking events where required.

    You'll be the ideal candidate if you have the following skills and experience:

    Proven experience in a B2B sales environment.
    Marine, Engineering, HVAC, or Process Manufacturing industry experience is essential
    Strong account management and relationship-building skills.
    Commercial awareness with a results-driven mindset.
    Engineering or technical qualifications, or equivalent industry experience.
    Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
