How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

    Business Development Manager – Façades

    Buckinghamshire / Hybrid / Field-Based
    Permanent, full-time
    £50,000 - £60,000 basic salary
Performance-related bonus plus company car or car allowance

Winsearch is proud to partner with a growing specialist façade contractor looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager to support its continued expansion across the UK.

This is a nationwide role focused on identifying, developing and securing opportunities across façades, cladding and external-envelope projects.

Direct façade-sector experience is essential. The successful candidate must understand how façade projects are specified, tendered and delivered, and already have relevant relationships across the construction market.

    The Role

You’ll be responsible for developing relationships with main contractors, developers, architects, façade consultants and other project decision-makers.

Your focus will be on identifying suitable façade opportunities at an early stage and maintaining involvement through design development, pre-construction, tender and contract award.

Working closely with estimating, commercial, design and operational teams, you’ll ensure opportunities are properly qualified and aligned with the contractor’s technical capabilities and commercial objectives.

This is not a general construction-sales role. You’ll need sufficient façade knowledge to discuss project requirements credibly, recognise viable packages and understand the key factors influencing specification, procurement and contractor selection.

    What You’ll Be Doing

Identifying and securing opportunities within the UK façade market
Developing relationships with main contractors, developers and architects
Engaging with façade consultants, specifiers and project decision-makers
Building a pipeline across new-build, refurbishment and remediation projects
Spotting projects at an early design or pre-construction stage
Understanding proposed façade systems, scope and procurement routes
Qualifying opportunities around value, timescale, risk and suitability
Making proactive approaches to prospective clients
Maintaining and developing existing client relationships
Attending client meetings, industry events and exhibitions
Working with estimating teams to develop competitive tender submissions
Supporting opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award
Following up tenders and obtaining meaningful feedback
Monitoring façade-market activity and competitor movements
Maintaining accurate CRM records, pipeline information and forecasts
Reporting activity and progress to the senior leadership team
Delivering against agreed pipeline, sales and growth targets

    What They’re Looking For

Proven business-development or sales experience within the façade sector
Strong knowledge of façade, cladding and external-envelope packages
Existing relationships with main contractors, developers, architects or façade consultants
Track record of identifying and converting project opportunities
Understanding of façade tendering, specification and procurement
Ability to engage credibly with technical and commercial stakeholders
Experience developing opportunities through longer construction sales cycles
Strong commercial judgement when qualifying projects
Confidence opening new accounts and creating opportunities from a cold start
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
Self-motivated and able to manage a nationwide field-based role
Organised approach to CRM, forecasting and follow-up
    Full UK driving licence

    Essential Façade Experience

Candidates must have worked commercially within one or more of the following areas:

    Rainscreen cladding
    Architectural cladding
    Curtain walling
    Architectural glazing
    Aluminium façade systems
    External envelope
    Façade remediation or recladding
    SFS and associated façade systems
    Fire-rated façade solutions
    Façade design, manufacture or installation
Applications from general construction Business Development Managers without meaningful façade experience are unlikely to be suitable.

    About You

You’ll be a credible façade professional who understands both relationship development and the technical context behind the opportunity.

You should be comfortable discussing façade systems, project scope, design responsibilities, procurement routes and programme requirements without relying entirely on the technical team to lead the conversation.

You’ll know how to identify the decision-makers influencing a package and how to maintain engagement through what can be a lengthy development and tender process.

The successful candidate will be proactive, commercially aware and selective. The priority is to generate a strong pipeline of suitable, profitable façade projects rather than a high volume of poorly qualified enquiries.

    How Success Will Be Measured

Quality and value of the façade opportunity pipeline
    Relationships developed with relevant decision-makers
New main contractor and developer accounts opened
    Suitable tender opportunities generated
Conversion of opportunities into secured façade projects
    Growth of repeat business
Achievement of agreed revenue and order targets
Accuracy of CRM records and sales forecasts
Quality of market and competitor intelligence
Collaboration with estimating, design and commercial teams
    Commercial suitability of secured work

    What’s In It For You

£50,000 - £60,000 basic salary depending on experience
    Performance-related bonus
    Company car or car allowance
    Company pension scheme
    Hybrid and field-based working
Nationwide responsibility with autonomy over your diary
Opportunity to help grow a specialist façade contractor
    Direct access to senior decision-makers
Support from estimating, design, commercial and operational teams
Exposure to new-build, refurbishment and remediation projects
Long-term progression as the business develops
If you’re an experienced façade Business Development Manager with an established construction network and a proven ability to generate new project opportunities, contact Winsearch for a confidential discussion.
