About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Senior Business Relationship Manager to manage a portfolio of key and strategically important business members across the Black Country.
This is a senior relationship-focused role where you will work directly with Managing Directors, shareholders, business owners and senior leaders, developing a genuine understanding of their businesses, challenges and growth ambitions.
You will act as a trusted business partner, providing practical support, identifying opportunities and connecting businesses with relevant expertise, services and commercial opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop a portfolio of key business accounts.
Build strong, trusted relationships with MDs, business owners, shareholders and directors.
Hold regular strategic conversations to understand business challenges, opportunities and growth plans.
Develop account plans and proactively identify ways to add value.
Provide practical business support, guidance and signposting.
Connect businesses with relevant funding, training, export support, professional services and networking opportunities.
Facilitate introductions and identify potential commercial opportunities between businesses.
Identify opportunities to develop existing relationships and increase engagement.
Monitor account activity, retention and engagement using CRM.
Represent the organisation at business events, meetings and networking opportunities.
Provide regular updates on member intelligence, opportunities and account performance.
About YouWe are looking for someone with excellent commercial acumen who understands how businesses operate and can have credible, meaningful conversations with senior decision-makers.
You will ideally have experience in:
Senior account management or relationship management.
Business development, consultancy or professional services.
Working with SMEs, business owners or senior stakeholders.
Developing strategic client/account plans.
Identifying commercial opportunities and providing solutions to business challenges.
You will be confident, commercially minded, consultative and highly relationship focused, with the ability to quickly build credibility and trust with business leaders.
You don't necessarily need to have worked within a membership organisation. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong understanding of business and can genuinely talk to an MD or business owner about their challenges and offer meaningful, practical support.
