How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Position: Engineering Sales Manager
    Location: Coventry / Central England
    Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 (Negotiable) + Benefits

    A well-established engineering products and solutions provider is seeking an experienced and technically minded Engineering Sales Manager to join the business as part of a planned succession strategy.

    This is a field-based role suited to a technically oriented sales professional with a strong mechanical engineering background and experience working with end users, MRO customers and production-based industrial businesses.

    The successful candidate will manage and develop an established customer base while identifying new business opportunities across Central England. The role would suit someone from a mechanical engineering products, power transmission, engineering distribution or industrial sales background, particularly someone who combines strong technical knowledge with a hands-on and commercially focused approach.

    There is also scope for the successful candidate to take on additional responsibility within the business over time, with previous man-management or branch management experience advantageous.

    Job Overview

    Manage and develop an established portfolio of industrial customers across Central England
    Build strong relationships with end users, MRO customers and mechanical engineering businesses
    Identify and secure new business opportunities within target production and manufacturing industries
    Sell a range of engineering products, mechanical components and lubrication equipment
    Conduct regular customer visits to understand requirements and recommend suitable technical solutions
    Provide technical support and product knowledge to customers
    Develop long-term relationships with key customers and stakeholders
    Identify opportunities to increase sales across existing accounts
    Work closely with internal teams to ensure effective order processing and customer service
    Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer information and pipeline opportunities
    Support the continued growth and development of the business
    Work alongside the existing Sales Office Manager as part of a planned succession and transition process
    Potentially take on additional team or management responsibilities depending on experience

    Job Requirements

    Proven experience in a technical sales role within engineering, industrial products or mechanical sectors
    Strong mechanical engineering knowledge and a practical understanding of industrial machinery
    Experience dealing with end users, MRO customers and production/manufacturing businesses
    Experience selling mechanical components, engineering products, power transmission products or lubrication equipment
    A background within engineering products distribution, power transmission or industrial supply would be advantageous
    Manufacturing or production industry experience would be beneficial
    Previous branch management, sales management or man-management experience would be advantageous
    Commercially minded with the ability to manage existing accounts while developing new business
    Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
    Comfortable carrying out customer visits and working independently in a field-based role
    Full UK driving licence
