A South East London Local Authority is seeking an experienced Special Projects Contract Manager to lead the procurement and management of high-risk, safety-critical contracts across its residential housing portfolio.
We are looking for someone with strong social housing experience who can demonstrate a track record of both procuring contracts end-to-end and subsequently managing contractors, performance and delivery.
The role will have a particular focus on fire safety, compliance and external wall systems (EWS), overseeing investigative programmes including FRAEWs, Fire Risk Assessments, spandrel panel investigations and façade/render assessments.
Key responsibilities will include:
·End-to-end procurement, including specifications, tendering, evaluation, award and mobilisation
·Managing contractors against KPIs, specifications, budgets and programme milestones
·Commercial management, cost control, forecasting and ensuring value for money
·Overseeing fire safety and external wall investigative works across multiple buildings
·Supporting legal teams with contractual evidence and claims relating to defective works
·Supporting Cladding Safety Scheme and other funding applications
·Managing risks and providing clear reporting to senior stakeholders
We are particularly interested in candidates with strong contract management experience within social housing, combined with demonstrable procurement experience.
