How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Digital CIP - User Researcher - Flocking New Work


    Job Description:

    What is the Customer Insight Platform (CIP)?

    • CIP is composed of multiple cross-functional teams who use a variety of agile and lean practices. Together, they provide services that collect, evaluate, and support the analysis of customer interaction data.
    • Within CIP a new workstream is being formed to deliver a new requirement called internally as Flocking - Title is Adaptive Detection System for Counter Fraud
    • Flocking - requirement is a production, in-service capability that moves fraud detection from reactive, rules-based flagging of individual records to proactive, automated discovery of organised fraud networks.
    • The target capability would process data at production scale, resolve the entities and relationships within it, and surface cross-regime and cross-provider fraud patterns (for example flocking between banks and EMIs, and shared bank accounts, devices, credentials and addresses across VAT, Self-Assessment and PAYE) that are invisible to traditional tabular analysis, giving investigators the tooling to explore and act on them in hours rather than days or weeks.
    • Initial piece of work is to lead the Discovery and Alpha phase and then support planning, pricing to build a SoW for Build to Go live.

    • This role is responsible for the vision, definition and quality of complex, business critical products and services, for the CIP team.

    • CIP user researchers plan, design and carry out research activities with over 2000 internal users that help us gain a deep understanding of the people that use CIP’s data services.
    • This research informs how the proposition, service, content and interaction design is shaped so that services work well for users and achieve the policy’s intent. The services that we build are designed to last and to be reusable across multiple policies/user groups.

    • Experience working as a User Researcher in a fast-paced commercial environment.

    • Analysing data and communicating actionable insights to the team and stakeholders
    • Demonstrating the value of user research: engaging sceptical clients and team members and helping immature teams to embed user research practices into their agile workflow
    • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to set objectives and hypotheses for research
    • Comfortable working with remote teams.

    • Prior experience working in projects related to data-driven decision making.
