Biogas CAD Technician

Astute's Renewables team is partnered with a leading producer of biogas in the UK who are looking to recruit a CAD Technician to support with the development of key project deliverables throughout the development, design and construction phases of various projects.

Responsibilities and duties of the CAD Technician role

Reporting to the Project Manager you will:

Completion and documenting of site surveys including the use of drones, GPS measurement tools and other equipment
Work within the project teams to develop key project documentation, which includes planning / layout drawings, process and Instrumentation drawings and management of contractors to complete Point cloud/ LIDAR surveys
Support the Project Manager in developing contract documentation
They will manage the drawing the compliance, control and issue register along with the document controller
They will supervise and control the review of drawings from our contractors
Updates to drawings during and after the construction process
Assist in the development of construction documentation (i.e. H&S files, preconstruction info etc)
Other duties as required

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

A relevant Engineering degree (BEng / Meng)
Full UK Driving Licence

Personal skills

The CAD Technician role would suit someone who is:

Experience with AutoCAD design - 2D layouts / P&ID's (essential)
Experience with Microstation package (desirable)
3D modelling experience preferred in Solidworks ACAD 3D or equivalent (essential)
Completion/ management of point cloud surveys and management of 3D data sets (Desirable)
MS office - high level of proficiency in 365 (essential)
Mechanical/ Process / Chemical engineering design - will have awareness of the design of pumping/ ventilation/ chemical/ manufacturing/ oil & gas/ Petrochem processes. (Desirable)
