How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Barclays Hampden is seeking an enthusiastic and commercially minded Sales and Events Coordinator to join our growing team.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales and events professional who thrives on building relationships, creating exceptional client experiences, and delivering outstanding events. Working within one of Scotland's premier venues, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth, securing new business, managing existing client relationships, and coordinating events from initial enquiry through to successful delivery.

    As Sales and Events Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the full client journey, ensuring every enquiry, booking, and event receives the highest level of service and attention.

    We are looking for an organised, proactive, and customer-focused individual with a passion for sales and events.

    What You'll Do:

    Managing inbound event enquiries and progressing opportunities through the sales pipeline.
    Producing tailored event proposals and quotations that meet client requirements.
    Conducting professional and engaging venue show rounds.
    Coordinating events from confirmation through to completion.
    Building and developing long-term relationships with existing clients and key accounts.
    Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
    Maintaining accurate CRM records and ensuring full compliance with company procedures.
    Working closely with operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
    Managing event documentation, pre-payments, invoicing, and financial administration.
    Maximising event revenue through effective upselling and account development.
    Representing the venue at networking events, exhibitions, client entertainment activities, and sales initiatives.
    Monitoring market trends and competitor activity within the Glasgow events market.What You Bring:

    Previous experience in event sales, venue sales, hospitality sales, event planning, or event coordination.
    A proven track record of achieving sales targets and delivering measurable results.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    Strong relationship-building and account management capabilities.
    Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
    Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
    A proactive approach to identifying opportunities and solving problems.
    Strong attention to detail and event planning expertise.
    Confidence working independently and taking ownership of your workload.
    Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
    Knowledge of the Glasgow events market would be advantageous.
