How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Operations Planning Officer

Help plan and coordinate our Property & Environment services, monitor work and inspections, and work with residents, schools and community

    About Us:
Bridgnorth is an historic market town on the banks of the River Severn. The town currently has a population of 12,000 and acts as a centre for the rural area of eastern Shropshire.

It has strong links with the nearby West Midlands conurbation and is a popular leisure destination. It is likely that there will be significant population growth in the wider area over the next decade.

We are looking for a Operations Planning Officer to support the effective planning, co-ordination and monitoring of the Council’s Property & Environment operations and to promote positive community engagement with the Council’s environmental services.

Some main duties of the role includes:

    * Prepare and maintain staff rotas, work schedules and forward work programmes, taking account of agreed service priorities, planned leave, training and operational requirements.

    * Act as a central point for receiving and recording reported concerns, defects and service requests relating to Property & Environment services.

    * Undertake regular inspections of Council-owned land, parks, open spaces, play areas, facilities and other assets in accordance with agreed inspection programmes

    * Maintain the Property & Environment service training matrix, monitoring expiry and renewal dates and identifying forthcoming training requirements.

    * Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Council employees, Councillors, contractors, partner organisations and other stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have the following:

    * Experience of coordinating workloads, schedules, activities, projects or operational services

    * Experience of using IT systems to maintain records, schedules and work information.

    * Excellent organisational and planning skills.

    * Ability to coordinate a varied workload and respond effectively to changing priorities

    * Full driving licence and ability to travel between Council sites

    Closing date: 5pm, Wednesday 28th October 2026.
