Tradewind Recruitment is looking to appoint a Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Hyde, Tameside, on a temporary-to-permanent basis from October.
The school is single-form entry and forms part of a larger Multi-Academy Trust, providing staff with the benefits of a close-knit primary school environment alongside the support and development opportunities available across a wider trust.
The school is proud to serve a diverse community of children and has a strong focus on ensuring every pupil is given the opportunity to achieve. The majority of pupils meet expected standards, with staff working collaboratively to provide additional support and challenge where required.
The school is well staffed with teaching assistants, providing valuable classroom support across the curriculum. It also benefits from a dedicated resource base for pupils with complex additional needs who require specialist provision beyond what can be provided within the mainstream classroom.
The Year 2 position would particularly suit a teacher with a background in KS1 teaching and learning who is confident delivering high-quality phonics provision. The school follows Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised, supporting children to build their knowledge of the alphabetic code and develop the phonics skills required to become confident readers and spellers as they progress through school.
The school are looking to appoint a teacher who:
Holds QTS and has experience or a strong interest in teaching within Key Stage 1.
Has a secure understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and age-related expectations.
Is confident teaching systematic synthetic phonics, ideally with knowledge of Little Wandle Letters and Sounds Revised.
Can deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that support pupils of differing abilities and starting points.
Has high expectations for pupil progress, behaviour and achievement.
Is confident working alongside teaching assistants and can deploy additional adults effectively within the classroom.
Is committed to creating an inclusive classroom and supporting children with a range of additional needs.
Can build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
Is enthusiastic about contributing to the wider life and shared vision of the school.
Is seeking a temp-to-permanent opportunity and is keen to establish themselves within a school for the longer term.For a teacher looking for their next permanent position, the role provides an excellent opportunity to join the school initially on a temporary basis, allowing both the teacher and school to establish a strong working relationship before progressing towards a permanent appointment.
