I am currently looking for a Site Manager to work at a school in Haringey.
As a Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, security, safety, and cleanliness of the school premises and grounds. The Site Manager will ensure that the school environment is safe, secure, well-maintained, and compliant with health and safety regulations, supporting an effective learning environment for pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Site Security
* Open and close the school premises as required.
* Ensure the security of buildings, grounds, equipment, and vehicles.
* Respond to alarm activations and emergencies outside normal working hours where required.
* Monitor access to the premises and liaise with security providers.
Facilities Management
* Carry out routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and equipment.
* Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating, and electrical checks where competent.
* Coordinate and supervise contractors working on site.
* Ensure school facilities are maintained to a high standard.
Health & Safety
* Assist in implementing and monitoring health and safety procedures.
* Conduct regular health and safety inspections and risk assessments.
* Maintain accurate records of safety checks, maintenance activities, and statutory compliance.
* Ensure compliance with legislation relating to health and safety, fire safety, and safeguarding.
Grounds and Premises Maintenance
* Oversee the cleanliness and upkeep of the school grounds.
* Ensure outdoor areas, pathways, and entrances are safe and accessible.
* Arrange for seasonal maintenance activities such as gritting, snow clearance, and gardening services.
* Monitor waste management and recycling arrangements.
Compliance and Statutory Testing
* Ensure completion of routine compliance check.
* Maintain accurate compliance records and documentation.
Essential Qualifications
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
* Health and Safety qualification or willingness to obtain one.
* Relevant facilities, maintenance, or building management experience.
Essential Skills
* Good practical maintenance and repair skills.
* Strong organisational and time management abilities.
* Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Basic IT skills for record keeping and reporting.
