This is an opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a busy food manufacturing operation, working as part of an established Engineering team to maximise equipment reliability and minimise production downtime. You’ll work across a range of high-speed production and packaging equipment, taking ownership of both electrical and mechanical maintenance while supporting wider site improvement projects.
The role would suit an engineer who enjoys fault finding, problem-solving and working closely with Production to keep a manufacturing site running effectively. There will also be opportunities to get involved in machinery upgrades, installations and continuous improvement activity.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
* Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across production and packaging equipment.
* Diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
* Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns across the site.
* Identifying recurring equipment issues and implementing long-term solutions.
* Supporting continuous improvement projects focused on reliability, efficiency and performance.
* Working closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve engineering issues.
* Supporting machinery installations, upgrades and commissioning.
* Maintaining accurate engineering and maintenance records.
* Ensuring engineering activities are completed in line with Health & Safety and food safety requirements.
* Supporting the development and improvement of the site's preventative maintenance programme.
What’s required?
* Previous experience as a Multi-Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar within a manufacturing environment.
* Experience within food, beverage or FMCG manufacturing would be highly advantageous.
* Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.
* A recognised Engineering qualification or apprenticeship.
* Experience working with automated production and packaging machinery.
* Knowledge of PLC fault finding would be beneficial.
* A proactive approach to preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with Engineering, Production and Operations teams.
