How our sorting works

The order in which job vacancies are displayed is determined by a composite score based on the following factors:

  • Keyword Relevance: How well your search terms match the vacancy details. We prioritize matches found in the job title, followed by job requirements, location names, and educational levels. Matches within general employer information or the organization's name carry a lower weight.
  • Commercial Prioritization (Premium Jobs): Vacancies paid for by employers ('Premium' or 'Sponsored') receive a ranking boost and will appear higher in the search results.
  • Recency (Date Relevance): Newer vacancies are prioritized. The relevance score of a vacancy is reduced by half once the posting is older than 30 days.
  • Proximity (Distance Relevance): Vacancies located closer to your search location are ranked higher. For vacancies located more than 30 km from the search center, the relevance score is halved.
The final ranking is established by multiplying all these individual factors to calculate the total relevance score.

    Job description

Facilities Technician – Manufacturing (West Midlands)

Salary: £18.23 – £22.75 per hour (£34,600 – £43,100 per annum), dependent on experience and qualifications
Hours: 36.5 hours per week, days only — Monday to Thursday 8:00am–4:00pm, Friday 8:00am–3:00pm. Overtime and weekend work available for those who want it.

Are you a hands-on facilities professional with a strong background in electrical and mechanical installation, looking for a role where you can genuinely shape how a busy manufacturing site runs?

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Facilities Technician to join their team. This is a technical leadership role at the heart of the facility — you'll be responsible for coordinating projects, driving efficiency, and keeping the site running safely and cost-effectively.

    What you'll be doing:

Project managing programmes of works across the facility, from planning through to delivery
Coordinating installation projects and plant moves, insourcing work where possible
Monitoring energy usage to ensure safe, balanced, and efficient consumption
Researching and developing efficiency and cost-avoidance projects
Acting as the go-to advisor on all things facilities-related
Interfacing with suppliers and industry bodies, including occasional overseas travel
Staying on top of new technologies that could benefit the plant
    What we're looking for:

Strong facilities maintenance or installation experience in a manufacturing environment
Good electrical knowledge of LV installation practice and theory
Solid mechanical installation grounding (compressed air systems, cooling water systems)
Experience with heavy/large machinery installations and relocations
Some exposure to civil engineering or works project management, with an understanding of budgetary control
A proactive, flexible approach with strong communication skills
GCSE (or equivalent) in Maths and English, plus a technical/trade qualification in construction or maintenance
    What's on offer:

Competitive hourly rate up to £22.75ph (£43.1k pa)
Days-only working pattern with paid overtime opportunities
The chance to make a real, visible impact on a busy manufacturing facility
    INDH
